What is this test? The CA 15-3 test measures a tumor marker most commonly associated with breast cancer, especially in its advanced stages. Test Instructions 📝 A simple blood draw from a vein is required. Reports An elevated CA 15-3 level can indicate metastatic breast cancer, but can also be elevated in other cancers or benign conditions. Why is it Done? 🤔 To monitor a patient's response to treatment for advanced breast cancer and to watch for recurrence. It is NOT used for screening or diagnosing early-stage breast cancer.
