What is this test? H. pylori Antibodies (IgG, IgM) blood test looks for IgG and IgM antibodies against the Helicobacter pylori bacterium, a major cause of peptic ulcers. Test Instructions 📝 A simple blood draw from a vein is required. Reports - IgG Positive: Indicates a past or current infection. - IgM Positive: Suggests a more recent infection. Why is it Done? 🤔 To screen for H. pylori infection. Note: This test cannot distinguish between a past and current infection, so other tests (stool antigen, breath test) are preferred to confirm an active infection.
