What is this test? Hb Electrophoresis (Hemoglobin Electrophoresis) measures and identifies the different types of hemoglobin in the blood. This test can detect abnormal hemoglobin types and levels. Test Instructions 📝 A blood sample is drawn from a vein. No special preparation is needed. Reports Results are reported as percentages of total hemoglobin. The presence of abnormal hemoglobins (like Hb S) or abnormal percentages of normal hemoglobins (like high Hb A2) can diagnose specific conditions like sickle cell disease or beta-thalassemia trait. Why is it Done? 🤔 This test is primarily done to: - Diagnose hemoglobinopathies (e.g., sickle cell anemia, thalassemia). - Identify carrier status for these genetic conditions. - Investigate the cause of unexplained anemia.
Cancellation Policy
