What is this test? The HCV Genotype test identifies the specific strain, or genotype (1 through 6), of the Hepatitis C virus. Test Instructions 📝 A blood sample is drawn. This test only needs to be performed once if an active infection is confirmed. Reports The report will identify the specific genotype and sometimes the subtype (e.g., Genotype 1a, Genotype 3).
