What is this test? The IgE (Immunoglobulin E) test measures the total amount of IgE antibodies, which are primarily associated with allergic reactions. Test Instructions 📝 A blood sample is drawn from a vein. No special preparation is required. Reports - Elevated Levels: Often seen in people with allergies, parasitic infections, or allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA). - Normal Levels: Does not rule out allergies. Why is it Done? 🤔 To evaluate people for conditions associated with allergies (asthma, hay fever, eczema). A specific IgE test is better for identifying the exact allergen.
