What is this test? Liver function test (LFT) includes a panel of tests that measure the levels of liver enzymes, bilirubin and protein in the blood and is done to assess the function and health of the Liver. Blood sample is drawn from the vein in the arm. Test instructions Alcohol: Please abstain from alcohol before the test. Medication: Any pre-existing medication should only be stopped after consultation with the referring Physician. Reports Soft Copy (Portal/Email): If the sample is collected before 12 noon, then the report will get delivered as per Reporting Time / Maximum TAT (Turn Around Time) indicated with the test. For samples collected after 12 Noon, 12 hours may be added to the Report Turn Around Time Hard Copy: Delivered at home upon request. A small convenience fee may apply. Why is it Done? Liver function test is useful for Screening: It is highly recommended to check for liver diseases if you have any of the following risk factors If you are taking alcohol since a long time If you have a history of exposure to hepatitis virus If you have a family history of liver disease If you are taking medicines which may affect your liver Diagnosing: This test is useful to diagnose liver diseases when you have any of the following symptoms Loss of appetite Weakness Jaundice (yellowish discolouration of eyes, skin and urine), Abdominal pain Vomiting Monitoring: In people already suffering with any liver disease, this test helps to check the effectiveness of treatment.
Cancellation Policy
