What is this test? The Total Testosterone test measures the total amount of testosterone in the blood. Testosterone is the primary male sex hormone but is also important in women. Test Instructions 📝 A blood sample is drawn, typically in the morning (7 a.m. to 10 a.m.) when levels are highest. Reports - In Men: Low levels can cause low sex drive, erectile dysfunction, and fatigue. - In Women: High levels can cause irregular periods, excess body hair, and acne (often associated with PCOS). Why is it Done? 🤔 To investigate symptoms of low testosterone in men, high testosterone in women, or issues with puberty in boys.
