What is this test? Thyroid Function Test (TFT) measures the levels of thyroid hormones and thyroid stimulating hormones in the body. These hormones are responsible for the proper functioning of many body functions. Test instructions Test Instructions Fasting- Not required. Medication- Any pre-existing medication should only be stopped after consultation with the referring Physician. If you are taking thyroid hormone as a part of treatment for thyroid disorder, it is recommended that you take the medicine after the blood sample is drawn in the morning. Alcohol- Please abstain from alcohol before the test. Reports Soft Copy (Portal/Email): If the sample is collected before 12 noon, then the report will get delivered as per Reporting Time / Maximum TAT (Turn Around Time) indicated with the test. For samples collected after 12 Noon, 12 hours may be added to the Report Turn Around Time. Hard Copy: Delivered at home upon request. A small convenience fee may apply. Why is it Done?
