What is this test? The TPHA (Treponema pallidum Hemagglutination Assay) test is a treponemal antibody test used to confirm a diagnosis of syphilis by detecting antibodies specific to the syphilis bacteria. Test Instructions 📝 A blood sample is drawn from a vein. Reports - Reactive (Positive): Confirms a current or past syphilis infection. The test usually remains positive for life. - Non-reactive (Negative): No syphilis antibodies detected. Why is it Done? 🤔 As a confirmatory test after a positive result from a screening test like VDRL or RPR.
