What is this test? Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) is used to assess Vitamin B6 levels in the serum and thereby to guide in further management Test instructions Alcohol: Please abstain from alcohol before the test. Medication: Any pre-existing medication should only be stopped after consultation with the referring Physician. Fluids Allowed: Water only. Reports Soft Copy (Portal/Email): If the sample is collected before 12 noon, then the report will get delivered as per Reporting Time / Maximum TAT (Turn Around Time) indicated with the test. For samples collected after 12 Noon, 12 hours may be added to the Report Turn Around Time Hard Copy: Delivered upon request. A small convenience fee may apply. Why is it Done? Vitamin B6 plays an important role in the body. It is needed to maintain the health of nerves, skin, and red blood cells. Pyridoxine has been used to prevent or treat a certain nerve disorder (peripheral neuropathy) caused by certain medications (such as isoniazid).
